“Do not let its bad reputation fool you. Good Lambrusco is joyous and delicious, and it goes wonderfully with salumi, pork dishes, rich pastas and pizzas."

Cantina Fratelli Carafoli was founded by Mauro Carafoli in 1919. The winery is located in the small town of Ravarino, just a few kilometers from Sorbara, the heart of Lambrusco production. In 1951, Domenico and Enzo began working with their father to improve the quality of their wines and increase production. In 1965, the family acquired 20 hectares of vineyards in Sorbara, which remain a source of pride for them today. These 20 hectares are in a thin strip of land between the Secchia and Panaro rivers where the soil is rich in nutrients, but also loose and permeable with excellent drainage.
Today, Cantina Carafoli is thriving under the third generation. Carlo, Paolo and Mario have dedicated themselves to the success of their wines with advancements in technology, methods and viticulture. Carlo oversees all aspects of production from harvest to bottling; Paolo works in the vineyards and the cellar; and Mario manages the sales.
