Evesham Wood was founded in 1986 by Russ Raney with the idea that small is beautiful. To maintain a high level of quality, the winery relies on two basic principles: obtaining optimal ripe, low-yield fruit from the best possible sites in the Willamette Valley; and using minimal intervention in the winemaking process. That approach is alive and well under the guidance of Winemaker & Owner Erin Nuccio, and is evident in very bottle produced.

Evesham Wood is also a driving force behind the Deep Roots Coalition, an advocacy group for the protection of wine sourced exclusively from non-irrigated vineyards. Its mission is to educate the wine consuming public about the benefits of drinking dry-farmed wine, both in terms of the conservation of agricultural water supplies, as well as the authenticity of the resulting wine.
