Haden Fig is built on a shared passion for making exceptionally complex and balanced wines in the heart of the Willamette Valley. While working at a highly-regarded wine retailer in Washington D.C., founder Erin Nuccio discovered that it was not the revered French and Italian wines favored by his clientele that struck him the most, but rather Oregon Pinot Noir.
After spending some time working in distribution, Erin and his wife moved to California where he attended enology and viticultural school in Napa and Sonoma. From there, the couple headed north to the Willamette Valley where Erin met Russ Raney, the founder and owner of Evesham Wood. Russ offered Erin the chance to apprentice under him and make his first wines, which would eventually come to be known as Haden Fig. Erin now owns and operates Evesham Wood and he continues to make the wines for both labels. Haden Fig remains a special project, and will always be a place for Erin to craft thoughtful and compelling expressions of the Willamette Valley wines he first fell in love with back in D.C.
