Lee Hudson has long been known for producing grapes of distinction from his 200 acres of uniquely-situated vineyards. There are 27 wineries across Napa and Sonoma who work with Hudson fruit, and some produce a single vineyard designate that bears the iconic Hudson Vineyards  on its label. Each vineyard is farmed to fully capture its nuances and site-specific characteristics expressed each growing year. This, combined with more than 30 years of meticulous winegrowing and winemaking experience is what makes each bottle of Hudson wine so special.

The wines are made with a focus on complexity and distinction of vintage over intensity, and to showcase the work in the vineyards. The winemaking team is a long-standing collaboration between Lee and Cristina Hudson, Consulting Winemaker John Kongsgaard, and Production Winemaker Christopher Vandendriessche.

Today, the ranch is home to pigs, sheep and chicken, and gardens that provide the produce for a weekly CSA program that feeds up to 80 families, in addition to what is sold at the Oxbow Produce and Grocery in Napa's Oxbow Market.

Born and raised in Texas, Ed studied Horticulture at the University of Arizona and spent time working with the esteemed Jacques Seysses of Domaine Dujac in Burgundy. When he returned to the U.S. he continued  his  studies at UC  Davis alongside

classmates John Kongsgaard, Randall Grahm and Tim Mondavi, amongst others. Then in 1981, Lee purchased a 2,000-acre ranch situated just south of Napa Valley in, what was at the time, the little known winegrowing region of Carneros (just before it was granted AVA status in 1983).
