When the parents of Samuel Guibert chose this lonely outpost in the Gassac Valley of eastern Languedoc, they could hardly have known what a world-class estate lay in wait below these thickly forested hillsides. But the unique red glacial and white limestone soils of Daumas Gassac were special enough to convince none other than Emile Peynaud himself to spend two decades working with the Guiberts to create what has been called a "Lafite in Languedoc" by Gault Millau and "the only Grand Cru of the Midi" by Hugh Johnson.

The Guilhem line is sourced from old vines on stony hillsides near the Mediterranean and are more traditional in Languedoc style that are made with the same care and class as the camas Gassac wines.

Today Samuel and his wife Muffi farm these steep hills by hand to low yields through organic means and create legendary, age-worthy wines in the Daumas Gassac wine from an intriguing mix of local, rare, and international varieties. Their complexity and depth are outpaced only by their unique style.
