The Willamette Valley is Oregon's most recognizable appellation for cool climate varietal wines, and it is in the Northern part of this region where the finest vineyards are found - an epicenter known as the "North Valley," which includes all of the defined sub-appellations. It is from within this renowned region that North Valley Wines sources fruit. Extremely high quality sites within the Eola-Amity Hills, Yamhill-Carlton, Dundee Hills, and Ribbon Ridge areas, provide a rich, diverse array of raw materials from which winemakers James Cahill and Tony Soter carefully practice the "art of the bend" each vintage.

James and Tony are engaged partners with their growers, and the blocks they select from each vineyard are fastidiously farmed to their own rigorous standards. All of these vineyards are certified sustainable and are often certified organic as well. Not only is the environmental commitment on the winery's part a philosophical statement of core values, but James and Tony are convinced these farming practices inevitably produce wines of the absolute highest quality attainable.

The winemaking practices are time-honored, small-lot, artisanal methods using new French oak with restraint (usually only between 5 and 15% new, with the remainder 2-3 year-old barrels), so that the pure, regional characteristics of the wines shine brightly.
