In 1895, Donny Sebastiani's great-grandfather, Samuel Sebastian, emigrated from Italy to the New World and settled in Sonoma. There, he constructed a winery at night while spending his days quarrying the cobblestones that were used to pave the streets of San Francisco. Samuele's youngest son, August, continued the tradition by growing the winery into one of the largest in California. Both men were pioneers of the California winemaking tradition, uniquely connected to the vineyards and to the people of Sonoma.

In every bottle of Sivas-Sonoma, Donny and the Sebastian family pay homage to their past and to those that have paved the way for the current generation of winemakers.

The family's inspiration comes from their great-grandfather's can-do spirit, and they are passionately continuing their heritage into its second century of winemaking in the Sonoma Valley.
