For over three decades, Tony Soter has crated outstanding wines on the west coast, first under his own label, Etude, and also as a consultant for Araujo, Shafer, Viader, and Dalle Valle. He remains one of Napa's most respected ecologists and winemakers. Soter Vineyards was crafted from a desire to return to the home of Tony's wife, Michelle, and also from the discovery of the perfect piece of property that is Mineral Springs. This south-facing gentle slope is a mix of pale sedimentary soils and is among the most exciting vineyards in Oregon. Meticulous care goes into clonal selection, vineyard management and the winemaking process, but ultimately it is the vineyard's inherent suitability for viticulture that drives the incredible quality in these wines. 

Located in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA of Northern Willamette, Soter Vineyards is uniquely suited to producing world-class Pinot Noir. the northern latitude (on par with Burgundy) creates a long and temperate growing season in which the grapes can slowly develop the complexity and depth associated with this "sweet spot" for Pinot Noir.
