The Spirits Sales Specialist Role

Vanguard Wines is a distributor of fine wine and spirits, servicing the Indiana and Kentucky markets seeking a Spirits Sales Specialist to manage our craft spirits partnership. Our current portfolio consists of Ready to Drink Cocktails by Death & Co. x The Craft Spirits Cooperative, Åhus Akvavit, Bimini Gin, Saison Rum, Mezcal Legendario Domingo, and Xila Licor de Agave 7 Notas.
 

Our ideal team member will be a personable and friendly self-starter who has a knack and affinity for B2B sales, is extensively knowledgeable in and strongly enthusiastic about the spirits industry and craft production methods. This person should be assertive and confident while exhibiting respect and trustworthiness, possess an entrepreneurial spirit and mindset, and comfortable working alone.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Business-to-Business liasing

  • Present samples - alone or in tandem with the Sales Representatives - to support the
    Sales Team effort to grow customer accounts

  • Independently manage sales for a curated portfolio of craft brands

  • Schedule & conduct consumer tastings at select accounts

  • Work with select on- and off-premise locations to create product displays and position point of sale materials

 

Propel revenue growth

  • Work closely with and in service of our suppliers; including work-withs, trade tastings,
    consumer tastings, and events

  • Identify new opportunities and create relationships with appropriate accounts for craft
    products

 

Educate and collaborate

  • Conduct staff trainings at accounts on brand attributes

  • Collaborate with on-premise accounts to create cocktails

What you'll have

  • You have a passion for craft spirits and production methods

  • You have an outgoing personality and enjoy meeting new people

  • You are experienced in or strongly enthusiastic about spirits sales

  • You have experience in NetSuite or other Oracle-based ERP systems

  • You have strong time-management and people skills, flexibility, and the ability to multitask

  • You are entrepreneurially-minded and see yourself as being an owner of your role

  • You love the challenge and hunt of prospecting new business

  • You consider yourself to be a self starter who works with precision and urgency

  • You have an eye for detail and accuracy

  • You are able to work independently
