Whitehall Lane Winery is a relative newcomer in the Napa Valley, but it has already established itself as a top player in the field. Though originally established in 1979, the real story begins in 1993 with the purchase of the estate and its land holdings by Tom Leonardini. A successful businessman from San Francisco, Tom sought an investment that not only satisfied his passion for wine, but would also provide a legacy fthat he could pass along to successive generations. From the very beginning, the Leonardini-owned Whitehall Lane was a family endeavor, and that's likely to continue into the future with Toms children Katie and Tom II holding VP of Operations and Distribution titles respectively.

The grapes are transported to the state-of-the-art Talley facility where thy are given a gentle treatment in order to accentuate their bold flavors and balanced structures. As tehey like to say at Bishop's Peak, in the end they are rock solid wines.

Beyond the dedication of the family, the other secret of Whitehall Lane's success is in the ground, literally. There are six estate vineyards, primarily in the renowned appellation of Rutherford and St. Helena. The deep, well-drained alluvial soils of these AVAs are the perfect home for the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes that winemaker Jason Moulton masterfully controls from ground to bottle.
